Senior Spotlight: Chris Morris

Senior Spotlight: Chris Morris

LAMONI - The Graceland University athletic department is honoring a Spring sport senior who did not get the chance to finish their final season. This week we are honoring the seniors on this year's baseball team. The baseball team had just over half of their 2020 campaign remaining when the season was officially cancelled. Our next baseball Senior Spotlight is Chris Morris.

Chris was a two-year member of the baseball team in addition to being a member of the football team for four years at Graceland. The dual sport athlete is a native of Canyon Country, California and was a pitcher for the Yellowjacket baseball team the last two seasons.

On the mound, Morris started 13 games in his career while appearing in relief in seven others. Overall, he threw 72.2 innings and notched three wins. Throughout his 20 appearances, Morris struck out 45 opposing batters. He also fielded his position well earning a 1.000 fielding percentage in 20 chances.

Chris will graduate from Graceland and head on to a graduate program. Head coach Brady McKillip commented, "I wish Chris the best as he heads off to Grad School. He made an impact at the University as a 2 sport athlete in football and baseball. Chris' calm character will serve him well in the future as no situation ever seemed too big for him."

Graceland University wants to thank Chris for his committment to the baseball program and Graceland Athletics as a whole. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
