Gabriel Perez and Kellen Scruggs Earn All-Conference Honors from Heart
LAMONI, Iowa - Graceland University saw two of its top performers recognized by the Heart of America Athletic Conference, as Gabriel Perez was named Second Team All-Conference and Kellen Scruggs earned Honorable Mention honors following standout 2025-26 campaigns.
Perez, the Jackets' everyday designated hitter, anchored the lineup with a .338 batting average across 47 starts. He totaled 51 hits, including 10 doubles and seven home runs, while driving in a team-high 40 RBIs and posting a .543 slugging percentage. His consistent production in the middle of the order made him one of the conference's most reliable run producers.
Scruggs, an infielder, turned in an impressive all-around season to earn honorable mention recognition. He led the team with a .360 batting average, collecting 41 hits in 42 games while adding five home runs and 30 RBIs. Scruggs also showcased plate discipline with 19 walks and reached base at a .497 clip, the highest on the team.
Both players were key offensive contributors for Graceland throughout the season, providing consistency and impact at the plate while earning recognition among the conference's top talent.
