Dance Secures Back-to-Back First-Place Finishes Ahead of Conference Championship

Oskaloosa, IA – The Graceland University dance team delivered two dominant performances over the weekend, earning first-place finishes at both the William Penn Classic and the William Penn Invitational. The Yellowjackets posted scores of 84.2 and 84.1, respectively, securing their highest marks of the season and positioning themselves as strong contenders heading into the conference championship.

Graceland outperformed a competitive field at both events, topping Mount Mercy University (79.6) and William Penn University (77.8) in the Classic, and besting William Penn (77.9) and Mount Mercy (76.3) in the Invitational. The University of the Cumberlands rounded out the standings in both competitions.

Head coach Kat Albertson praised the team's continued dedication and technical precision.

"We've continued to put in the hard work and are excited to see that in our results today! The team has stayed really dedicated and committed to keeping our technique scores high, while also executing really difficult tricks. They have been putting in hours of practice, on top of also attending additional technique sessions. We are very excited to have gotten our highest score yet, which has put us in third place in our conference. Looking forward to seeing how much more we can continue to grow before we go to Conference next weekend."

The Yellowjackets' consistency in execution and scoring places them in a strong position heading into next week's conference championship. Graceland will look to build on its recent success as they prepare to compete for a conference title.
