Graceland Dance Takes Third at Cougar Classic in Columbia
COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Graceland University dance team secured a third-place overall finish Saturday at the Cougar Classic in Columbia, Missouri, highlighted by a strong improvement between rounds in a competitive six-team field.
Graceland opened the event with a 73.79 in Round 1, placing fourth after the preliminary session. The Yellowjackets trailed Saint Francis (83.88), Columbia (82.71) and Benedictine (76.67), while finishing ahead of Missouri Baptist (69.71) and Missouri Valley (60.46).
In Round 2, Graceland elevated its performance and posted a 79.88, improving to third in the final round standings. Columbia claimed the Round 2 title with an 86.04, followed by Saint Francis at 85.92. Benedictine (79.42), Missouri Baptist (69.29) and Missouri Valley (63.92) rounded out the field.
The combined performance secured third overall for the Yellowjackets, marking a strong showing against conference and regional competition.
