Graceland Falls to Baker in KCAC Matchup, Prepares for Spring Sting Challenge

LAMONI, Iowa — The Graceland University women's flag football team dropped a 32-6 decision to Baker University in KCAC play Wednesday evening at Huntsman Field, according to official game results.

Baker (10-2, 6-2) controlled the tempo behind an efficient passing attack, while Graceland (5-7, 4-2) totaled 150 yards of offense but was limited to one scoring drive.

The Wildcats established early momentum with two first-quarter touchdown drives, utilizing quick passing concepts and red-zone efficiency. Baker finished with 204 passing yards and three passing touchdowns, consistently creating separation in the short and intermediate game.

Graceland responded in the second quarter with its most complete possession of the game, engineering a 10-play, 66-yard touchdown drive that featured sustained completions and effective use of the sideline. The Yellowjackets capitalized on underneath routes and clock management before finishing the drive in the red zone. The point-after attempt was unsuccessful, trimming the deficit to 19-6 heading into halftime.

Sierra Flores led the offense, completing 21-of-43 passes for 163 yards and one touchdown, while distributing the ball across multiple targets. Aiyanna Hannah recorded six receptions for 61 yards, and Delaney Mondino added five catches for 36 yards, including a touchdown reception.

Defensively, Graceland registered 28 total tackles and two sacks, generating pressure in passing situations and limiting extended plays at times. However, Baker maintained offensive efficiency, finishing with 21 first downs and 330 total yards.

Head coach Aaron Richardson emphasized execution in key situations following the game.

"We have to be sharper with our flag-pulling angles and more consistent in our route timing," Richardson said. "There were stretches where we executed well offensively, but we need to finish drives and eliminate explosive plays defensively. Our focus remains on situational execution, especially in the red zone and on third down."

Baker extended its lead in the second half, including a 54-yard touchdown connection in the third quarter, before adding a fourth-quarter score to secure the conference win

Graceland returns to action this weekend as it hosts the Spring Sting Challenge at Huntsman Field in Lamoni, Iowa. The event will also feature Hesston College (Kan.) and North Central Missouri College, providing multiple competitive opportunities throughout the weekend.
