GU Announces Hiring of Ja’Mozyia Williamson as Head Flag Football Coach

LAMONI, Iowa -Graceland University Director of Athletics Brady McKillip has announced the hiring of Ja'Mozyia Williamson as the next head coach of the Yellowjackets flag football program.

Williamson arrives in Lamoni with experience in coaching, education and student-athlete development. Most recently, he served as a VE teacher and flag football coach at Spoto High School in Riverview, Florida. His background also includes coaching positions at Mulrennan Middle School and Strawberry Crest High School, along with several years working as a camp counselor and flag football coach at Kids Across America in Missouri.

"Ja'Mozyia understands the importance of building a culture centered on accountability, growth and opportunity," McKillip said. "We believe he will continue moving our program forward while providing a strong experience for our student-athletes."

Williamson earned his degree in physical education from Langston University and has built his coaching philosophy around mentorship, skill development and creating inclusive team environments.

"Every athlete has the right goals," Williamson said. "My job is to guide them down the right path. I'm really excited to get started at Graceland."

Williamson takes over the Yellowjackets program following the tenure of Aaron Richardson, who spent two seasons leading Graceland flag football. Richardson guided the program to the first playoff victory in school history, helping establish the foundation for continued success.

Williamson's résumé includes experience in athlete development, team operations and fostering positive team culture both on and off the field.
