Men’s Basketball Takes Down Missouri Valley
Marshall, Mo. – The Graceland University Men's Basketball team took the Missouri Valley College Vikings. The Yellowjackets defeated the Vikings, 77-61. Gr1aceland move to 5-1 and are 2-0 in the conference.

The Vikings opened the game and led early (4-0); Patrick Fisher would get the Yellowjackets on the board from the line. Aleksa Markovic would even the score from the deep (4-4), and Akeen Woods would push for a Yellowjacket lead. Both teams would trade baskets; the Vikings would stay hot on the Yellowjacket's tail. Around the halfway point, Graceland would lead by two from a JT Washington free throw (20-18). Graceland would find a six-point collection from baskets by Woods, Fisher, and Markovic (26-20). The Vikings would end the half with a last-second layup. Graceland would lead by four points heading into the halftime (34-30).

Austin Braun would open the second half by sinking a three-pointer (37-30). Graceland would add back-to-back points from Darrius Davis and Patrick Fisher to push the advantage to nine points. The Yellowjackets would work in a 16-point lead, with points from Fisher, Woods, Afenjar, Markovic, Braun and JY Smith (66-50). The Yellowjackets would hold their largest lead over the Vikings of 19 points from a Braun layup throw (75-56), and Smith would close the game with a layup for a 77-61 Graceland victory.
