Men’s Soccer Raises the Bar with a 3.71 Team GPA

LAMONI, Iowa — Graceland University Men's Soccer continues to set the standard—both on the pitch and in the classroom. The varsity squad turned in a remarkable 3.71 team GPA for the Fall 2025 semester, a significant jump from last fall's impressive 3.65 mark. That figure not only reflects consistent improvement, but also places Graceland among the nation's elite academically, ranking third-highest in GPA among all NAIA men's soccer programs.

The commitment to excellence runs deep throughout the program. Graceland's junior varsity team added to the academic accolades with a 3.40 cumulative GPA, reinforcing the culture of discipline and drive that defines the Yellowjackets.

A standout figure: 21 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA—a testament to the team's rigorous academic commitment and the high-performance culture instilled by the program's leadership.

"This doesn't happen by accident," said Head Coach Bryan Courtney. "I couldn't be more proud of our players. They compete with intensity on the field, but what truly impresses me is the way they show up in the classroom every single day. This GPA reflects their discipline, their character, and their understanding that excellence is a habit—not an event."

The academic success reflects more than individual effort—it underscores a culture of accountability, mentorship, and shared purpose. Graceland faculty play a pivotal role, not only as instructors but as mentors who invest personally in student development.

Graceland's small-class environment fosters strong student-professor relationships, providing the support and challenge student-athletes need to thrive. For Graceland soccer players, that means more than just academic success—it means being known, guided, and prepared for life beyond soccer.

For families and prospective student-athletes, the message is clear: Graceland Men's Soccer isn't just building athletes; it's developing well-rounded individuals ready to lead in every arena.

At Graceland, winning is measured in more than goals. It's found in GPA reports, personal growth, character development, and the lifelong preparation that happens far beyond the final whistle.
