Yellowjackets Varsity Reserve Opens Heart Season with Back-to-Back Shutouts

PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Graceland University men's varsity reserve soccer team opened Heart of America Athletic Conference play in impressive fashion Sunday afternoon, recording consecutive shutout victories over Park University and Baker University.

In the opener at noon, the Yellowjackets set the tone with a 2–0 win against Park. Forward Max Dutton (Liverpool, England) was in top form, scoring both goals to power Graceland's attack. His sharp finishing earned Man of the Match honors, while the Jackets' defense held firm to preserve the clean sheet.

Just hours later, Graceland returned to the pitch for their second contest, battling to a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Baker. Freshman Malachi Parks (Gardner, Kan.) delivered the decisive strike, netting the lone goal of the match. Parks' impact throughout the game secured him Man of the Match recognition.

The doubleheader sweep highlighted Graceland's depth and resilience, as the Jackets played two physical matches in one afternoon without conceding a goal. The pair of clean sheets adds to their early-season momentum and underscores their strength defensively.

The Jackets return to action at Park University on Sunday, Sept. 21, for another doubleheader against Missouri Valley and Park.
