The Yellowjackets also received defensive contributions from Nam Taluong, who led the team with seven digs, helping extend rallies against the Statesmen offense.
However, William Penn maintained control through efficient attacking from Marton Sebestyen and Ben Brinkman, closing the match with a 25-17 third-set win to complete the sweep. Graceland head coach Eric Majors emphasized the need for improved offensive execution following the conference contest.
"We have to improve our efficiency in serve receive and create better attacking lanes for our hitters," Majors said. "When we run our system cleanly and reduce attack errors, we give ourselves opportunities to stay competitive in these conference matches."
Graceland returns to action Friday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. CST when the Yellowjackets host Kansas Wesleyan at the Morden Center in Lamoni, Iowa.
