Alexander Claims Long Jump Title as Graceland Competes at Heart Indoor Championships

Maryville, MO – The Graceland University men's and women's indoor track and field teams delivered competitive performances at the 2025 Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, held Feb. 14-15. Joseph Alexander led the Yellowjackets with a conference title in the long jump, while both teams saw notable efforts in sprints and mid-distance events.

Men's Team Highlights

Graceland's men's team saw Alexander secure the long jump title, scoring 10 points with his winning mark. Additional standout performances included:

  • Brice Taylor took third in the 400 meters (49.50, 3 points) and seventh in the 200 meters (22.20, 1.5 points).
  • Robert Robinson finished 13th in the 60 meters (6.98) and 11th in the 200 meters (22.31).
  • Kaeden Monday placed 14th in the 200 meters (22.42).

With Alexander's title and multiple scoring performances, the Yellowjackets demonstrated depth on the track and in the field.

Women's Team Highlights

The Graceland women's team competed with determination, gaining valuable experience at the conference level.

  • Grace Testerman placed 17th in the 400 meters (1:10.66).
  • The team fielded competitors in the 600 meters and sprint events, gaining key development opportunities.

While the women's team finished outside scoring positions, the meet provided essential growth as they continue building competitive depth.

Looking Ahead

With conference competition completed, Graceland now turns its focus to the NAIA Indoor National Championships, taking place Feb. 27 - Mar. 1, 2025, at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center in Gainesville, Florida.
