Baker and La Fountain Earn Heart All-Conference Honors
LAMONI, Iowa — Graceland University women's volleyball saw two student-athletes recognized for their performances this season, as Kaylee Baker and Shaeniah La Fountain earned Heart of America Athletic Conference Honorable Mention selections.
Senior middle hitter/right-side Kaylee Baker capped off her collegiate career as a key contributor in both front-row production and defensive coverage. Appearing in 26 matches and 90 sets, Baker posted 130 total kills (1.44 K/S) with a .218 hitting percentage, the second-highest mark among all Yellowjackets hitters. She also tallied 92 total blocks (31 solo, 61 assisted), leading the team in block total and blocks per set.
Joining her is freshman defensive specialist Shaeniah La Fountain, whose back-row presence proved vital in her debut season. La Fountain played in 22 matches and recorded 268 digs (3.77 D/S), the second-highest digs-per-set mark on the team. She added 14 service aces, averaging 0.20 aces per set.
As a team, Graceland finished the season with a 7-22 overall record (3-15 Heart), averaging 9.33 kills per set, 8.55 assists per set, and 11.95 digs per set over 29 matches.
The Yellowjackets look to build on this recognition heading into the offseason, with strong defensive foundations and young talent continuing to emerge.
